- Its Your Park Day, Saturday May 15th at Catherine T Richardson Park. Come help The Douglaston Garden Club spruce up the KTR Park and Alameda Malls. Bake Sale to help fund our activities. Did you know that The Douglaston Garden Club spends over $4,000 a year mowing CTR Park and the initial 3 islands of Alameda Mall and The Douglaston Train Station? We have planted over 7,000 daffodil bulb in the last several years to beautify our neighborhood.
- The Douglaston Garden Club is holding its annual Flower Show on Tuesday the 18th of May at the Douglaston Community Church from 2pm till 4pm.

- The Douglaston Garden Club is having its Annual Flower Show at The Douglaston Community Church today, May 18th. Stop by from 2 till 4 to see all the beautiful horticulture and brilliant floral displays.

- Kudos to NYC Fire Department, Con-Edison, NYC Parks Department and NYC Department of Sanitation for a fantastic job cleaning up our neighborhood. Its hard to believe that the storm was less than a week ago.

- Ann Jawin, The Voice of the Doug Bay Civic Association, recently responded to the question of why she was opposed to the proposed Green Market at the Douglaston Train Station. She responded that she didnt understand why people wanted a farmers market in Douglaston. "They do it in poor areas," she said. "Here, people can get in their cars and get produce" at several stores. - NYC Council Man Daniel J Halloran, III issued his letter of support today for the Proposed Douglaston Green market at the Train Station. Councilman Halloran stated "The Green market will provide the Community the opportunity to have access to locally grown produce and artisanal items. The products sold at the Green Market will help the community eat healthier through their offerings of fresh from the farm fruits and vegetables."

- FIRST DOUGLASTON FARMERS MARKET A HUGE SUCCESS. Hundreds and hundreds of visitors flocked to the grand opening of the market. Fresh Peaches, Cheese, Eggs, Fish, Fruits, Veggies and Breads filled the booths. Some farmers were from as far as 3 hours away. People mixed and mingled, some people had not seen each other in months. There seemed to be a wonderful new Buzz around the Douglaston Village.
- Douglaston Garden Club planted 1100 Daffodils at Catherine Turner Richardson Park in conjunction with NYC Department of Parks "Its Your Park Day" this past Saturday the 15th of October. We also planted tulips, weeded the gardens, and trimmed all the bushes that surround the park. Thanks to neighbor Pat St. John and MP Landscapng for donating time to make the project so successful. The Douglaston Garden Club spends approximately $5,000 taking care of CTR Park and sections of The Alameda Mall EACH YEAR
